From 17 to 24 December 2016 Dr. Richard and Miriam CARTER, who are serving at Concordia Theological Seminary (CTS) and at Concordia Lutheran School in Kowloon (CLS), respectively, travelled to Chiang Mai in Thailand. After they had finished their work for the term in CTS and CLS, they served for the week in a programme of Lutheran Inter-City Network Coalition (LINC) at the request of Dr. Fungchatou LO.
Dr. CARTER was teaching a course as listed in the catalogue of Luther Institute Southeast Asia (LISA), with whom CTS has partnered in Cambodia. The course dealt with the questions “Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How of Christian Education.” Working through translation, Dr. CARTER was equipping church leaders to return to their congregations to teach better themselves and to help them train other teachers. Working with the same leaders Mrs. CARTER was enhancing English skills and exploring ways in which church leaders’ wives can be supportive for their ministry in their congregations.
