Three Waves of Christianity in China

On 8 May 2018 Rev. Dr. Richard CARTER (CTS) attended a lecture delivered by Dr. Carolyn SCHNEIDER (LTS) at International Baptist Church in Hong Kong. The lecture was titled "Three Waves of Christianity in China: 7th, 16th and 19th Centuries."

With video clips and maps Dr. SCHNEIDER described each wave, beginning with the Assyrian Church of the East arriving in China across the Silk Road in AD 635. A photograph of the monument erected by this group hangs in the ground floor hall way of 68 Begonia Road (CTS campus). Dr. SCHNEIDER left participants with a question: in what way will they as Chinese people participate in a fourth wave of Christianity spreading over China.
